Bay To Breakers

So I ran the Bay To Breakers for the first time yesterday. I got off to a good start, but then pretty much broke down about 2.5-3 miles into it. I started coughing a bunch and couldn't breathe. So after that point, I had to pretty much run a little bit, then walk a little bit, then run some more. I was pretty dissapointed with that, but the finish time wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I got 1:38:32 for the full 7.46 miles. That equals roughly a 13 minute mile. It turned out to be pretty fun so I think I'll do it again next year. By then I hope to trim that time down to an 11 minute mile. Things to keep in mind are make sure to go to the bathroom before the race, so that way you don't use a portapottie halfway into the race.

Some other noteworthy things I did during the race were see lots of naked guys, see about 50 smurfs, see people dressed as the Fandango people, and watch Better Than Ezra perform at the ING Footstock.

Later that afternoon we hooked up with JT and Nancy and had some Dim Sum in SF. Then we took the BART back to Walnut Creek, and drove back to Davis. Man am I tired and sore today.
