Ok, so I guess I'll update this biznitch. I recently went down to Malibu, CA to visit my friend Brian because he was graduating from Pepperdine University. I took a long weekend to do it, and Jessica came with me. A little mini vacation. Had a lot of fun.
First day we took off in the afternoon after my meetings at school, and drove down. Drive actually wasn't that bad, except my MP3 player wasn't fully charged. So we were forced to listen to country/christian/whatever was on the radio in Fresno/Bakersfield. Stayed in a cheapo motel. Had to get a smoking room because they were full during the weekend.
Second day hung out in Malibu. Went to Vo's graduation. It was short and sweet since it was a graduate level ceremony. Had awesome lunch, then went to the beach and had a few beers. After a tour of the campus/town, we grabbed some dinner and went to a club. I was bummed at first because they didn't have Mojito's there, and I had to drive. But it was still pretty cool.
Saturday we went to Disneyland. Had to do it. I haven't been there since I was probably 5 or something. Pirates of the Caribbean was updated which was cool. Went on Star Tours, the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, etc... So it was a jam packed day.
Sunday we got up and went down to hang at the Santa Monica pier. Luckily, we got there before all the people showed up. I was actually disappointed in it. For all I'd heard of it, I figured it would at least be on par with the Santa Cruz beach area. But it was really a tourist trap. However the outdoor mall was pretty cool. Reminded me a lot of Santa Cruz, except more talented street performers, AND I saw a monkey.
I'll try and post photos later. Oh yeah, I also went to a wedding this past Saturday with Jessica. Her friend was getting married. I didn't know anyone there. But it was still fun. Lots of good food and free drinks.
On another note. I hooked up my SR-16 drum machine to my TD-3 drum module through a midi connection, so now I have like, twice the sounds as I used to. I also ordered a powered mixer so I don't have to use the headphones for my drums much longer. However I still need to buy speakers. I'm waiting for a good deal.
