So I've been reading some books that have to do with mixing and mastering your own music recordings. Its pretty interesting stuff. Granted, most of it could probably boil down to 5 pages of actual information, the repetition of the ideas are good. An interesting thing to note is that compression seems to be pretty much the sound of modern radio. What is compression you ask? Its basically lowering the louds and upping the quiets as far as volume is concerned. I never really paid attention to this type of thing before. However, when I finally played my new amp, I noticed a compression in it which it is supposed to have to simulate old tube circuits. Its neat how after learning about these little things, you start to hear them in stuff.
On another note, my amp plays wonderfully for the most part. It took me a couple hours of twiddling with knobs to get it to sound more or less how I like it, but it is capable of quite a few cool sounds. However the foot pedal does not work as advertised, so I'll have to fix it and maybe try and get some money refunded because of this.
