I know I haven't been blogging much because school started, so I'm going to try and catch up... little do I realize that not much has been happening. I've been studying a whole bunch. Kinda sucks. My High Performance Systems Design class is going to kill me, I know it. The teacher was kicked out of teacher an undergrad class because he was so mean and didn't teach the students. He kinda expects all of us to know everything we were supposed to learn as an undergrad, which means I got a 1 out of 20 on the first quiz. So I spent the weekend relearning the material. However, the dude is a genius. He has a bunch of patents, one of which is for register renaming (enabling a whole generation of superscalar machines), was a pioneer for the first RISC computers, and is a consultant for a zillion tech companies including Sun, AT&T, Sony, Hitachi, Siemens... So I should learn a lot.
As for fun stuff... I went to a GSA (Grad Student Association) BBQ the other day and got free food as well as socialized with some people from my class. I'm glad cuz I didn't think I was going to be meeting anyone.
I've been hanging out with Jessica a bunch. We watched 50 First Dates last night (awesome movie I might add) and studied together.
Even better news, I'm getting internet soon!
Oh yeah, I've been invited to go to this costume ball thing in Sac where you get to watch some ballet, have some beer and appetizers. Cost is $10. Anyone wanna come with me?
