Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve

So Jessica and I went hiking today to get a workout and get out of Davis since it was a nice day. We went to the UC Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve. I forgot my camera, which disappointed me because at the top, you can see Lake Berryessa, as well as far off valleys. I'm sure if we were on the other side of one hill, we could see Davis on a clear day. So I'm sure we'll have to go back during the summer when its clearer out. We hiked 4.75 miles with a 1500 foot elevation gain. Good practice for my upcoming backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon. Didn't see much wildlife, but I was surprised at the amount of people hiking it. The parking lot was completely full. I had to squeeze into a spot that wasn't really a spot.

Anyways, I found a good website for hiking in Yolo County:

I think we'll have to do this more often. I often forget how good it feels to be in the real outdoors.
