Its been a long time since I updated. I remember being surprised that someone else besides my friends actually read this blog every once in a while. Whoever they were, they probably quit reading it because of my inability to keep to an update schedule. Well whatever. I'm feeling the need to slack off right now, so I'm going to be writing in here.
I've developed a coffee adiction in the past 3 months. A new group member, Frank, brought in a nifty Senseo coffee maker. It brews individual cups. I like it. Which means I now have a cup of coffee whenever I go to school. Sometimes more than one. But always at least one on Friday's, when we have the department seminar which is extremely boring at times. Damn you Frank.
Anyways, I took a class this quarter titled something like "Micro and Nano Fabrication for Life Sciences." I was surprised I could get away taking this class for my physics minor. There are absolutely no equations in the class whatsoever. Which is great, because I don't think I'm capable of doing real coursework anymore. I've effectively gotten stupider. I know the grammar is horrible. Deal with it. I'm currently in the process of writing a 15 page paper for the class. I like my title, "A CMOS Compatible Process for the Creation of Silicon Nanowire FinFET and VFET Structures for 3D IC Designs." Sounds pretty impressive doesn't it? Too bad I can't bullshit it. I'm supposed to design a process that would actually work in the cleanroom if someone followed all the steps I'm outlining. I have 12 pages so far of complete shit. Which means probably 3 pages of actual writing.
On to other news. I finished the damn tapeout of our G2S chip that I've been trying to get done for a year on Dec 3rd. I celebrated with beers at the pub on campus once we turned it in. Little did I know that I would get an email back from MOSIS that our chip did not pass the manufacturability checks. I spent the weekend dealing with it. Totally ruined my high. Especially since I spent 2 days working on a problem that turned out not to be a problem. But at least I'm done with that. I can get a board made for it and test it. Then finish my Masters Thesis which I plan on writing up during winter break.
I can't wait for the holidays. Jessica is coming with me to Oregon, which means it might be fun.
Ok I'm out. Peace.
Current Mood : Bored and Agitated.
Current Music : I can't remember. Probably some sort of death metal.
