I find myself reading the news a lot nowadays, and watching a lot of CNN/MSNBC. There are many times that I feel like I should get out there and be more political. Like I should do something to further causes I believe in. Some comments and beliefs people have make me angry. Whats worse is that a lot of times I have friends which have these beliefs. However, so as to not ruin our friendship I try and not talk about these things with them. I also realize that I'm really too lazy to try and change the world, even if it is one person at a time. I figure, I'd educate myself, and do what I think is best for myself and the world. If everyone does the same, I'd like to think that the world will eventually end up a better place. Call me optimistic, call me naive, I don't care. I know a person is smart, and people aren't... I'm not really sure where I'm going with this. I just know you should be skeptical of everything you see/read/hear, don't take anything at face value, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Yes - having different political viewpoints than friends, family, etc. is tough... but you shouldn't feel that those differences will ruin your relationships. If it does, then it probably wasn't meant to be. There's nothing wrong with an occassional debate, and sometimes it's a good way to learn about others. Friends and family members should accept each other, regardless of what beliefs they have. So speak your mind! :)

Yeah, I'd like to say that friends and family members should accept themselves no matter what. But sometimes views are about Gay rights, Minorities, and Immigrants, all of which my family has in it. And when people basically bash my family, I want to slap them silly.
