I was wary of this movie at first. Ashton Kutcher after all was not really one I could take seriously after watching many episodes of That 70's Show and Punked. But he pulled it off. The movie was actually pretty entertaining. I can't say that I knew who any of the other actors really were, but that didn't make it bad/good. I think that maybe we should give him some more chances for better movies, and see what happens. I'm not saying he should be the lead in an academy award type script, but just that he can pull off being a regular actor and not just a silly MTV minded youngin.
The Butterfly Effect reminded me a lot of Donny Darko for some reason. Although I guess its more Hollywood than Darko was... if that makes any sense. But yeah, fans of timeline changing movies would like this. The ending was almost predictable, but it could have been a lot more cliche. So they did a good job not making it end up like other similar movies have.
Bottom line, a good rental flick (which is what we did). Had it been in the theatres, might not be bad to see.
