Hype that shouldn't be hype

I just wanted to bring attention to a marketing gimmick that confuses people with bad math. It is about the Chevy Volt, which I've been hearing about forever.

Anyways, the jist is this. They claim 230 mpg, but its not that simple since this number is a combination of running off the battery and running off gasoline. Without telling people under just what conditions they are driving, a valid number could be anywhere from 50 to infinite.

50 is still good. But I just think the public should be aware of how these things are calculated, as is stated in the article above.
